Getting the Gospel to the Philippines
I want to introduce you to the Philippines
A beautiful country filled with wonder and many wonderful people
Craig and I are so excited about what the Lord is doing around the world and through Burgoyne Ministries. We have had the privilege of becoming aquainted with some of these wonderful people that are laboring in this country, and we want you to meet some of them and hear about what the Lord is doing there, and what some of their needs are.
Meet Pastor Jonathan Lumba and his wife
It has been a number of years since we first heard of them and from them, and we believe that it is time that we press forward in a strategic way to help them in the work there.
A church service
Feeding the children
What we are doing is sending bibles and books to them. Supplies to give to the work is so needed. They need bibles, study books, tracts and childrens books, teaching tapes, videos and music.
As with so many countries of the world, they need to have bibles in the language of the people. Many in the philippines do speak english, but many do not especially the village people outside of the cities.
The Lumba's live and minister in Mindanao, one of the truly beautiful places in the philippines but also marked with trouble in recent years. Mindanao you have been hearing about in the news, it is where the terrorists have been causing a lot of trouble, the Abusayaf. Pastor Lumba assures me though that  they live a ways away from that hot spot, they live in Cagayan De Oro City and do a good work there.
But as we know the work is hard and there is a tremendous need for materials to lead people to Christ, teaching and training tools. They also feed 200 children and take in abused girls.
Pastor Lumba has 9 other Pastors with him that must care for as well. They need medicines, vitamins and seeds to plant crops. Orphans in this part of the world are also a very real and serious problem and they need to meet it.
We are working with them to help them meet the needs of the people there. It may be a beautiful country but the needs are truly large and continuous. Please pray for them and for us.
They have constructed a much needed building for the church. It houses the feeding program for the children and for other activities. It is a great blessing from the Lord.
Pray for them as they go out to the villages where the people have not heard the Gospel and help us to get them the Cebuano bibles so the people can read God's word for themselves. Also for training materials so terribly needed and longed for. Materials for children are also needed, story books, sunday school supplies, childrens video's and music tapes. Help them reach the children.
Thank you ahead of time for your prayers for the people of the world, and for those whose lives we touch, as well as your prayers for us as they are greatly appreciated. It truly is the number one thing we need. And thank you as well as you give into the work of God, it enables many to do what it takes to win the lost, disciple new belivers, and take care of the widows and orphans. There truly is so much to do, but we can do it together and make a great difference. Sometimes ministering to the world seems overwhelming and too much for us, but we must not get under that way of thinking or feeling. One person at a time will get us there if we will work together. The harvest is truly great, but the Lord is raising up laborers in these countries to do the hands on work, they just need us to help them.
If the Lord should lead you to do so, or if you just desire in your heart to give, then please do so freely. I don't promise you great riches for your giving with just a monitary or earthly blessing, but I do promise you the blessing of the Lord upon your life. He blesses in many wonderful ways because the Lord is faithful to His people and to His word.

He has asked us to give, our lives first, and also from all that is in them. He will bless us as we need, and as He sees fit for the life He has chosen for us,  and we can trust Him for that. When we all get home it will have been enough that we gave and did what we could. What we could for the Gospel and for those less fortunate than ourselves.
